I can exactly remember the day we took these photos. It was one of those days, when you do not even need to fake a smile just to take a picture. One of those days during which you can enjoy little things around you and there is no need to worry about anything. It was also one of those days before midterms, so maybe that's the reason, too. 😅
So, how is Glasgow?
If you are asking about the city centre, clubs or bars, or even shopping streets, I don't have an answer. To be honest, I haven't really had time to enjoy Glasgow and explore other parts than just the West End, which is the part around my university. The first year is demanding for me because I need to get used to different things and learn to manage my time. Basically, my usual day is about studying, walking, cooking and sleeping. But don't take it as a complaint. I'm still enjoying uni life (kinda). Yes, I do miss my family and friends, but the vibe here is wonderful. Lecturers, tutors, my flatmates people from all around the world.. And what's the most important is that I am doing and studying what I genuinely want. Sometimes, it's hard to keep up even though it's just the first year, but we will all manage, I'm not afraid about that. Actually yesterday, I handed in my last essay for now, so I'm definitely going to blow off some stress and enjoy this beautiful city. The plan is to explore the main square, maybe visit a museum and stroll around a little bit. So, you can look forward to a post about Glasgow (not only about me 😋).

Presne si pamätám ten deň, kedy sme tieto fotky nafotili. Bol to jeden z tých dní, kedy sa nemusíte ani nasilu usmievať, len aby ste urobili fotku. Jeden z tých dní, počas ktorých sa tešíte z každého malého detailu okolo vás a strach či obavy sú úplne nezmyselné. Tiež to bol jeden z tých dní pred skúškami, takže to bude tiež jeden z dôvodov. 😅
Takže, aký je Glasgow? 
Ak sa pýtate na centrum mesta, kluby, bary alebo ulice s desiatkami obchodov, tak potom odpoveď nemám. Ak mám byť úprimná, zatiaľ som nemala veľa času, aby som si Glasgow užila a spoznala aj iné časti mesta okrem 'the West End', čo je mestská časť v okolí univerzity. Prvý ročník je pre mňa náročný v tom zmysle, že si musím zvykať na rôzne veci a naučiť sa zmanažovať si čas. Môj bežný deň vyzerá asi tak, že sa buď učím, kráčam, varím alebo spím. Ale neberte to tak, že sa sťažujem. Stále si užívam univerzitný život (poväčšine). Áno, chýba mi rodina a priatelia, ale ten 'vibe', ktorý Glasgow má, je naozaj skvelý. Profesori, učitelia, moje spolubývajúce, ľudia z celého sveta.. A najdôležitejšie je, že robím a študujem presne to, čo skutočne chcem. Niekedy je náročné držať krok, aj keď som len v prvom ročníku, ale všetci to nejako zvládneme, z toho strach nemám. Vlastne včera som odovzdala moju, nateraz, poslednú esej a to znamená, že budem mať čas nachvíľu si vydýchnuť a užiť si toto krásne mesto. Plán je spoznať centrum a hlavné námestie, možno navštíviť múzeum a len tak sa prechádzať. Takže sa môžete tešiť na post o Glasgow-e (nie len o mne 😋).

Predstavte si snedého, tmavovlasého a pomerne vysokého muža v bielej košeli zastrčenej do svetlohnedých nohavíc, z ktorého priam cítiť charizmu a energiu už len keď sa na neho človek pozrie. Aspoň tak si predstavujem typického Taliana ja. Už dávno som si zamilovala ich sebavedomie, chuť baviť sa a nebrať veci veľmi vážne; a aj to je jeden z mnohých dôvodov, prečo sa do Talianska tak rada vraciam.

Imagine a swarthy, dark-haired and relativelly tall man dressed in a white shirt tucked into light-coloured trousers, from whom you can feel charisma and energy just when you look at him. That´s how I imagine a typical Italian man. I fell in love with their self-confidence, the desire to have fun and not to take things very seriously; and that´s also one of the many reasons why I like coming back to Italy.



Kúsok Talianska, ktorý sme objavovali tento rok bolo mesto Padova a na výlet sme sa šli pozrieť aj do svetoznámych Benátok. Padova má krásnu architektúru a doslova na každom rohu starého mesta je niečo zaujímavé. Ak tam niekedy zablúdite, tak určite navštívte Baziliku sv. Antona. Na všetkých nástenných maľbách, rôznych sochách a oknách je vidieť viacero rôznych umeleckých slohov. Je tam toho neuveriteľne veľa a naozaj sa je na čo pozerať. My sme sa ešte prešli po námestiach a uličkách, pofotili, čo sa dalo a unavení po ceste zo Slovenska sme sa vrátili na hotelovú izbu.

The pieces of Italy we discovered this year were the city of Padua and we also went to the world-famous Venice for a one day trip. Padua has a beautiful architecture and literally at every corner of the old town   you can find something interesting. If you ever happen to get there, you should definitely visit Basilica of Saint Anthony. All the wall paintings, different sculptures and windows show various art styles. There is an incredible amount of things to see and it's worth going there. We also strolled through squares and streets, took pictures of everything that was possible and then returned to our hotel room, tired from the road trip from Slovakia.
