How I eat healthier
Traditionally, with New Year there are also new resolutions to come. One of mine was to start working out, at least three times a week, and eat healthier. I am not an expert in nutrition, but during the past months I found out a few ways to enrich my everyday diet with important nutrients.
1. Buckwheat porridge - Pohanková kaša
Pohanka je jedna z najzdravších potravín najmä vďaka vitamínu P (rutínu), ktorý obsahuje. Okrem neho sa v nej nachádzajú aj minerály - vápnik, fosfor, železo, draslík a horčík; a vitamíny B1, B2, E a C. Pohanka zlepšuje imunitu, ochraňuje pred baktériami, posilňuje tkanivá, cievy a aj krvný obeh. Dokonca je vhodná aj pre celiatikov a ľudí, ktorý sa stravujú bezlepkovo.
Pohanková kaša je jednoduchá na prípravu, no určite odporúčam pridať aj med alebo cukor. Navrch si rada dávam nakrájané ovocie, oriešky alebo semienka.

Buckwheat is one of the healthiest foods due to the fact that it contains vitamin P (rutin). Apart from that, there are also minerals - calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium and magnesium; and vitamins B1, B2, C, E. Buckwheat improves immunity, protects against bacteria, strengthens tissues, vessels and blood circulation. Additionally, it is also suitable for celiacs or those, who are on a gluten-free diet.
Buckwheat porridge is easy to prepare, but I recommend adding also honey or sugar. To the top, I like to add chopped fruits, nuts or seeds.
2. Buckwheat muesli - Pohankové müsli
Kedže sa stravujem bezlepkovo, nebolo jednoduché nájsť müsli, ktoré by dobre chutili. Tieto objavila moja kamarátka a úprimne, neviem sa ich dojesť. 😅 Sú pohankové s mandľami a sušenými jahodami. Buď si ich iba zalejem mliekom, alebo ich jedávam s jogurtom a ovocím.

I am on a gluten-free diet, so it wasn't so easy to find good tasting muesli, especially here in Slovakia. These were discovered by my friend and to be honest, I am obsessed. 😅 They are with buckwheat, almonds and dried strawberries. Either I eat it just with milk, or I add yogurt and some fruits.
3. Smoothie
Už od malička som nebola veľký fanúšik ovocia, a tak mi trvalo dlhšie, kým som dala tomuto nápoju šancu. Neviem čím to je, ale chutí mi omnoho viac, ako misa plná nakrájaného ovocia. A tak sa pre mňa smoothie stal najlepším riešením. Síce je veľa dohadov, kedy a po akom jedle by sa malo ovocie jesť, ja si myslím, že je to individuálne. Dôležité je odsledovať sa a zistiť, čo najviac sedí vám. Ja si zvyknem smoothie pripraviť do školy po raňajkách alebo po cvičení, kedy telo potrebuje doplniť zásobu živín. Najradšej si do neho dávam baby špenát, ktorý obsahuje vitamín A a tiež vitamín K, oba dôležité pre imunitný systém a zdravie.

Since my childhood, I haven't been really big fan of fruits, so it took me longer to give this drink a try. I am not sure why, but to me, it tastes better than a bowl full of chopped fruits. Therefore, smoothie has become the best solution for me. Although there are many speculations about fruit, when and after what meal you should eat it, but I think that it is individual. It is important to find out what best suits to you. I tend to prepare smoothie when going to school after breakfast or I prepare one after working out, when my body needs some extra nutritions. My favorite ones are with baby spinach, that contains vitamin A as well as vitamin K, both important for immune system and health.
