French Riviera
Francúzsko bola vždy jedna z mojich obľúbených krajín, ktoré som chcela precestovať čo najviac a posledná dovolenka na Riviére ma len presvedčila o tom, že túžim spoznať čo sa len dá. Prvýkrát som tam bola pred dvomi rokmi a už vtedy som si zamilovala kľukaté cesty, domy a vily postavené na strmých kopcoch a útesy s výhľadom na more. K tomu neuveriteľne krásny jazyk a priateľskí ľudia.
France is one of my favorite countries, I have always wanted to visit it as much as I could and my last holiday on the Riviera has only confirmed my passion and love for the French culture. When I was there for the first time I fell in love with its winding roads, wonderful houses and huge villas built on steep hills and cliffs overlooking the sea. Not to mention the incredibly beautiful language and friendly people.
1. CANNES
Väčšinu času sme trávili v meste Cannes, kde sme boli aj ubytovaní. Je preslávené najmä každoročným filmovým festivalom a ulicou Promenade de la Croisette s luxusnými obchodmi, drahými hotelmi a autami. V Cannes ma zaujal aj večerný hand-made trh a dlhá úzka ulica s reštauráciami, ktorú sme objavili až v posledný večer. Mesto je krásne najmä večer, keď je vysvietené, bary a kaviarne úplne zaplnené a všade počuť vravu a smiech.
We stayed and spent most of the time in Cannes. It is widely known for the annual Film Festival and for the road Promenade de la Croisette with luxury stores, expensive hotels and cars.

Moreover, I really liked the handmade market and this cute long narrow street with small restaurants we discovered on our last night. The city is lovely especially in the evenings when lights sparkle all around, bars and cafes are crowded and you can hear the sound of laughter everywhere.
2. FRÈJUS
Vďaka tomu, že sme cestovali autom, tak sme mohli skoro každý deň "preskúmať" iný kúsok Azúrového pobrežia. Tretí deň sme teda strávili v dovolenkovom meste Frèjus, ktoré je od Cannes vzdialené približne 40 km. Je tam krásna, piesočná pláž a čisté more, no na rozdiel od Cannes tam bolo viac rodín s menšími deťmi. Nemám ani veľa fotiek, keďže sme sa viac menej iba kúpali a chytali bronz.
Thanks to the fact that we were traveling by car we could explore some new corners of Azure Coast almost everyday. So, on the third day, we spent a few hours in a tourist town called Frèjus which is about 40 km from Cannes. There is a beautiful sand beach and clear water, but compared to Cannes there are more families with children. I don't have many photos from there as we were just relaxing and sunbathing on the beach.

Ešte pred odchodom som si urobila malý zoznam pláží, ktoré by som chcela počas našej dovolenky vidieť. Číslo 1. na zozname bola pláž La Pointe de l'Aiguille. Je skrytá medzi obrovskými skalami v Národnom parku za mestom Théoule sur mer, a nie je veľmi pravdepodobné, že v tejto malej zátoke stretnete veľa turistov. Ak sa tam rozhodnete stráviť nejaký čas, určite odporúčam ísť pred obedom, keďže poobede na pláži nájdete už iba tieň.
Before we went on the holiday, I had made a small bucket list of beaches I want to visit during our trip. The number 1 on the list was La Pointe de l'Aiguille. It's hidden among huge rocks in the National park near the town of Théoule sur mer, and it's unlikely that you meet a lot of tourists there. If you decide to spend some time in this little bay, I recommend going before lunch, because there is only a shade on the beach in the afternoon.
4. ANTIBES
Ďalšie doobedie patrilo mestu Antibes, ktoré je vzdialené len 10 km od centra Cannes. Hoci je oveľa menšie, tiež má svoje čaro a pekné pláže. Avšak veľa z nich je privátnych, a tak je dobré vybrať si dopredu, ktorú z nich by ste chceli vidieť.

Už je to pár rokov, čo som sa túžila prechádzať po La promenade des Anglais, vidieť typické šachovnicové námestie Masséna a fotiť si každú budovu a palmu v jednom z najznámejších miest Azúrového pobrežia. Takže je asi jasné, že očakávania som mala naozaj veľké. A Nice ma teda vôbec nesklamalo. Ešte aj pri ceste na hrad, po nespočetne veľa schodoch, som sa cítila spokojná a šťastná. :D Výhľady boli neuveriteľné, promenáda ešte krajšia a námestie s fontánou ešte väčšie ako som si predstavovala. Nice sa má naozaj čím chváliť a ja len ľutujem, že som tam nemohla zostať dlhšie.
It had been a couple of years since I really wanted to have a walk on La promenade des Anglais, see the typical chessboard square Masséna and photograph every building and palm tree in one of the most famous cities of the Azure Coast. So it's obvious that I had many expectations. And Nice met all of those. Even when walking to the castle, after countless number of stairs, I felt happy. :D The views were incredible, the promenade even prettier and the square with the fountain even bigger than I had expected. Nice has really many things to offer and I just regret that I couldn't stay there longer.
After a week spent on the French Riviera we returned back to Slovakia. I am sure that one day I will come back and explore the coast a little more. But I am not done yet with small adventures for this year, so you can look forward to some new posts from a rainier part of the world..
